Australian Android users have had a chilling start to 2024 with a variety of horror games to keep them entertained. Sensor Tower provides us with an exclusive peek into the performance of the top five horror games in the region for the first quarter.

Nextbots In Backrooms: Obunga from playducky.com, experienced a decline in downloads from 1.2M in the first week of January to 870K by the end of March, while weekly active users dropped from 7.3M to 6.6M. The revenue for the game also saw a downward trend, starting at $16K and dipping to $14K in the same period.

Playrix's Mystery Matters showed a more volatile revenue pattern, with a peak of $7.2K in mid-February before sliding down to $5.5K by the end of March. Downloads decreased from 1.1M to 341K, and weekly active users also saw a decline from 3.5M to just under 3M.

DVloper's Granny, which generated no revenue, had downloads fluctuating with a notable rise from 601K in late January to 888K in late March. Weekly active users, however, showed a general downtrend from 3M at the start of January to 2.8M at the quarter's close.

tinyBuild's Hello Neighbor Nicky's Diaries saw a significant revenue spike in late January at $59K, but this excitement was short-lived as it fell to $12K by March's end. Downloads peaked at 1.1M in late January, followed by a decline to 507K, while weekly active users peaked at 2.4M then settled at 2.1M.

Lastly, CASUAL AZUR GAMES' Hide in The Backrooms Nextbots had a mixed quarter with downloads starting strong at 1.3M but dipping to 701K. Conversely, weekly active users showed an impressive increase from 9.4M to nearly 10M by the quarter's end.
